Common use of Pay for Holiday Work Clause in Contracts

Pay for Holiday Work. If an employee who works 8-hour shifts is assigned to work on a day observed by the Village as a holiday, the employee shall be paid two times his regular straight-time hourly rate of pay for all hours worked on said holiday. In addition, the employee shall be paid, if he meets the eligibility requirements set forth in Section 10.1(b), his regular pay for the day in question.

If an a 37.5 hour employee who works 8-hour shifts is assigned to work on a day one of the foregoing days observed by the Village as a holiday, the employee shall be paid two times his regular straight-time hourly rate of pay for all hours worked on said holiday. In addition, the employee shall be paid, if he meets the eligibility requirements set forth in Section 10.1(b)2, his regular pay for the day in question. This section shall not be applicable to any holiday designated as a floater as provided above.
