OUT-OF-CLASS ASSIGNMENTS. A. Definition It is the intent of Management to avoid working an employee on an out-of-class assignment. An out-of-class assignment is defined as any assignment requiring substantial work in a higher level position which is not usually included within the scope of the duties and responsibilities as defined by the class specifications for the class to which the assigned employee’s regular position is allocated.
