Objective of Probationary Period. The work and conduct of probationary employees shall be subject to close scrutiny and evaluation. The probationary period shall be regarded as a part of the training and examination process and shall be used for securing the most effective adjustment of a new employee to a position. Individuals employed under City public employment programs, specially funded programs or contracts shall be subject to the probationary provisions of these Rules should they be appointed to a position in the classified service.
