Common use of Meal Provisions Clause in Contracts

Meal Provisions. Employees meal periods shall be thirty (30) minutes in length and shall be observed no sooner than one (1) hour prior nor one (1) hour later than midshift of the work shift, but in no event will employees be required to work more than five (5) hours from the start of the shift without a meal period. Employees required to work without a meal period shall be paid one half (½) hour at the applicable overtime. The parties agree that each employee shall have the right to take their lunch and/or break upon request to the Xxxxxxx.
