Make-Up of Calamity Days. Seasonal employees who elect to be paid over nine (9) months shall be paid for those calamity days which are required to be made-up by the Board. Seasonal employees who elect to be paid over twelve (12) months shall not be paid for calamity days because it is already calculated into their pay.

  • CALAMITY DAYS A. All bargaining unit members shall be paid their appropriate rate of pay for all days or parts of a day when the school in which they are employed is closed due to an epidemic or other public calamity.

  • Act of God Days A. Scheduled days of student instruction which are not held because of conditions not within the control of school authorities, such as inclement weather, fires, epidemics, mechanical breakdowns, or health conditions (as defined by city, county, or state health authorities) will be rescheduled to ensure that there are a minimum number of days of student instruction as prescribed by Michigan law.

  • Policy or Group Grievance Where a dispute involving a question of general application or interpretation occurs, or the Union has a grievance, Steps 1 and 2 may be by-passed.

  • Pay Days The Employer shall pay salaries and wages every second Thursday in accordance with Schedule "A" attached hereto and forming part of this Agreement.   • STRIKES OR LOCK-OUTS During the term of this Collective Agreement the Union agrees that there shall be no strike and the Employer agrees that there shall be no lock-out. Subject to any Labour Relations Board (or any succeeding body) directives, if an employee employed under the terms of this Collective Agreement refuses in good conscience to cross a legal picket line, the employee shall be considered to be absent without pay, and it shall not be considered a violation of this Agreement nor shall it be grounds for disciplinary action.

  • Snow Days ‌ If an employee, after good faith efforts, is unable to report to work for their scheduled duty period because of weather conditions, the employee may utilize paid time off.

  • Sabotage Sabotage is of concern to all Parties involved on any work site and may affect safety, and therefore both the physical and mental well being of all persons on site. The Parties to this Agreement will not tolerate sabotage, and will ensure that any person/s responsible for such action is immediately dismissed. It is accepted that the relevant authorities may have to be notified, and provisions of the OH&S Act implemented.

  • NO STRIKES OR LOCK-OUTS 6.01 The Union agrees that there shall be no strikes and the Employer agrees that there shall be no lockouts during the term of this Agreement. The meaning of the words "strike" and "lockout" shall be as defined in the Ontario Labour Relations Act, as amended.

  • National Day of Mourning Each year on April 28 at 11:00 a.m., one minute of silence will be observed in memory of workers killed or injured on the job.
