Common use of Leave, President, O.N.A Clause in Contracts

Leave, President, O.N.A. Upon application in writing by the Union on behalf of the employee, a leave of absence shall be granted to such employee elected to the office of President of the Ontario Nurses' Association for a single two (2) year term. There shall be no loss of service or seniority for the employee during such leave of absence, and the employee's salary and applicable benefits shall be maintained by the Employer. The Union agrees to reimburse the Employer for the full cost of such salary and applicable benefits no later than one (1) month following the date that such costs are incurred by the Employer. In remitting, the Union shall provide a list of employees for whom remittances are being made along with their Social Insurance Numbers. It is understood, however, that during the leave of absence, the employee shall be deemed an employee of the Ontario Nurses' Association, and not an employee of the Employer. The employee will provide the Employer with at least four (4) weeks’ notice prior to returning to her former position.
