Common use of Leave, President, O.N.A Clause in Contracts

Leave, President, O.N.A. Upon application in writing by the Union on behalf of the nurse to the Employer, a leave of absence shall be granted to such nurse elected to the office of President of the Ontario Nurses' Association. Notwithstanding Article 13.05 (a), there shall be no loss of service or seniority for a nurse during such leave of absence. During such leave of absence, the nurse's salary and applicable benefits shall be maintained by the Employer and the Union agrees to reimburse the Employer in the amount of the full cost of such salary and applicable benefits. It is understood, however, that during such leave the nurse shall be deemed to be nurse of the Ontario Nurses' Association. The nurse agrees to notify the Employer of her or his intention to return to work at least twenty- eight (28) calendar days prior to the date of such return. Leave of absence under this provision shall be in addition to Union leave provided in Article 13.05 (a) of this Agreement. Notwithstanding the above, the Employer and the Union may make alternate arrangements in respect to salary and benefit continuation.

Upon application in writing by the Union Association on behalf of the nurse to the EmployerHome, a leave of absence shall be granted to such nurse elected to the office of President of the Ontario Nurses' AssociationAssociation for a period of up to three (3) consecutive two (2) year terms. Notwithstanding Article 13.05 (a)11.04, there shall be no loss of service or seniority for a nurse during such leave of absence. During such leave of absence, the nurse's salary and applicable benefits shall be maintained by the Employer Home and the Union Association agrees to reimburse the Employer Home in the amount of the full cost of such salary and applicable benefits. It is understood, however, that during such leave the nurse shall be deemed to be nurse an employee of the Ontario Nurses' Association. The nurse agrees to notify the Employer Home of her or his intention to return to work at least twenty- eight two (282) calendar days weeks prior to the date of such return.
