Common use of Leave for Medical and Dental Care Clause in Contracts

Leave for Medical and Dental Care. Every effort shall be made to arrange appointments so as not to conflict with regular working hours. An employee shall consult with their supervisor in arranging the timing for medical and dental appointments that cannot be arranged outside working hours. Time off of up to one (1) hour for an appointment shall not be deducted from an employee's pay or sick leave credits. If the time off exceeds one (1) hour, the additional amount of time off shall be deducted from an employee's sick leave credits, or where there are no credits, from an employee's pay. When a series of medical or dental appointments or treatments are required, the scheduling of the timing of such appointments/treatments must be done in consultation with the supervisor prior to the start-up of the series.
