  • Labour Laws (a) The Contractor shall obtain all relevant labour registrations and comply with all relevant labour laws applying to its employees, and shall duly pay them and afford to them all their legal rights.

  • Labour 1. Recognising that each Contracting Party has the right to determine its own labour standards of protection and to adopt or modify laws accordingly its ad hoc, each Contracting Party shall endeavour to ensure that its legislation provides labour standards consistent with the internationally recognized labor rights set forth in paragraph 6 of article 1 and will continue to improve those standards.

  • Labour Disputes 15.01 If employees are prevented from performing their duties because of a strike or lock-out on the premises of another employer, the employees shall report the matter to the Employer, and the Employer will make reasonable efforts to ensure that such employees are employed elsewhere, so that they shall receive their regular pay and benefits to which they would normally be entitled.

  • Labour Matters No material work stoppage, strike, lock-out, labour disruption, dispute grievance, arbitration, proceeding or other conflict with the employees of the Corporation or the Subsidiaries currently exists or, to the knowledge of the Corporation, is imminent or pending and the Corporation and the Subsidiaries are in material compliance with all provisions of all federal, national, regional, provincial and local laws and regulations respecting employment and employment practices, terms and conditions of employment and wages and hours.

  • CHILD LABOUR 19.1 The Contractor represents and warrants that neither it, nor any of its suppliers is engaged in any practice inconsistent with the rights set forth in the Convention on the Rights of the Child, including Article 32 thereof, which, inter alia, requires that a child shall be protected from performing any work that is likely to be hazardous or to interfere with the child's education, or to be harmful to the child's health or physical mental, spiritual, moral or social development.

  • Casual Labour 19.1.1 A casual employee is an employee employed on an occasional basis and whose work pattern is not regular and systematic. When a person is engaged for casual employment the employee will be informed in writing that the employee is to be employed as a casual, the job to be performed, the classification level, the actual or likely length of engagement including number of hours to be worked per week, and the relevant rate of pay.

  • Central Bargaining Notwithstanding the foregoing provisions, in the event the parties to this Agreement agree to negotiate for its renewal through the process of central bargaining, either party to this Agreement may give notice to the other party of its desire to bargain for amendments on local matters proposed for incorporation in the renewal of this Agreement and negotiations on local matters shall take place during the period from 120 to 60 days prior to the termination date of this Agreement. Negotiations on central matters shall take place during the period commencing forty-five days prior to the termination date of this Agreement. It is understood and agreed that "local matters" means, those matters which have been determined by mutual agreement between the central negotiating committees respectively representing each of the parties to this Agreement as being subjects for local bargaining directly between the parties to this Agreement. It is also agreed that local bargaining shall be subject to such procedures that may be determined by mutual agreements between the central negotiating committees referred to above. For such purposes, it is further understood that the central negotiating committees will meet during the sixth month prior to the month of termination of this Agreement to convey the intentions of their principals as to possible participation in central negotiations, if any, and the conditions for such central bargaining." FOR THE LOCAL UNION FOR THE HOSPITAL APPENDIX OF LOCAL ISSUES The following provisions, while not being an exhaustive listing, are appropriate for inclusion in an Appendix of Local Issues. Any difficulties in this regard shall be submitted to the Implementation Committee for resolution.

  • XxxXxxxx Principles - Northern Ireland The provisions of San Francisco Administrative Code §12F are incorporated herein by this reference and made part of this Agreement. By signing this Agreement, Contractor confirms that Contractor has read and understood that the City urges companies doing business in Northern Ireland to resolve employment inequities and to abide by the XxxXxxxx Principles, and urges San Francisco companies to do business with corporations that abide by the XxxXxxxx Principles.
