Internal Affairs Investigation. The Department, in its discretion, may conduct Internal Affairs investigations. The purpose of this section is to set forth some guidelines to ensure the employee subject to investigation receives notice of the completion of that investigation within a reasonable period of time while still allowing the Department to conduct a fair and complete investigation. Accordingly, the Department shall notify the employee under investigation that said investigation was either “unfounded”, “not sustained”, or “sustained” within ninety (90) days of the investigating officer’s completion of the investigation. In the event the Department requires the investigating officer to conduct additional or follow-up investigation, the Department shall be required to notify the employee as described herein within ninety (90) days of the investigating officer submitting his final investigation.

Internal Affairs Investigation. 1. Any complaint or information that an employee has acted improperly shall be reviewed by the administration.
