Common use of Illness, Injury and Emergency Leave Clause in Contracts

Illness, Injury and Emergency Leave. Certificated employees under contract for the school year will receive twelve (12) days’ annual leave for illness, injury, and emergency leave. Unused days shall accumulate to the extent allowed by law. Less than full-time (partial year or fraction FTE) employees shall be allowed illness, injury, and emergency leave on a pro-rated basis.

Unused days shall accumulate to the extent allowed by law. Less than full-time (partial year or fraction FTE) employees shall be allowed illness, injury, and emergency leave on a pro-rated basis. Employees who take a leave of absence for a FMLA qualifying event before the completion of the contracted year, will not have their 12 days’ annual leave reduced because of an FMLA-designated absence.
