HOLIDAYS WITH PAY. Employees who qualify under Section shall be paid without the performance of work for the following holidays: New Years Day, Good Friday, Victoria Day, Dominion Day, Civic Holiday, Labour Day, Thanksgiving Day, Remembrance Day, Christmas Day and Boxing Day. When any of the above holidays falls on Saturday, it Friday and falls on Sunday, it will be observed on the following Monday. In the case of Labour Day, Christmas, Boxing Day and New Years Day, there will be a scheduled shutdown excluding essential services. It is arranged by the parties. Qualified employees to be eligible for holiday pay must work their last day or shift preceding the holiday shutdown and be in camp ready for work at the start of their first work day or shift following the holiday shutdown. Notwithstanding the preceding it is further agreed that qualified employees shall receive pay for the holidays. Where they have been laid off for lack of work in the thirty days immediately preceding the holiday. Where an employee who qualifies under Section is obliged to cease work due to sickness or accident certified by a licensed practitioner during the thirty day period immediately prior to the holiday, he shall receive holiday pay for the holiday(s) within such day period. Where a holiday or holidays occur during their absence from work on an authorised vacation provided they return to work on time. The employee shall be entitled to additional time off for any holidays occurring within such vacation period. Where for reasons beyond an employee's control he has not been able to report to work on time he shall receive pay for the holidays. See Letter of Understanding early departure. Where an employee qualifies under Section and is recalled and works any time during the calendar day period immediately following the holiday, he shall receive holiday pay for the preceding holiday. In the special case of Christmas, Boxing Day or New Years holiday, a qualified employee who has requested and who has been granted a leave of absence not more than ten days before the holiday and who returns to work from leave of absence and is ready to work on time, will be paid for the holidays. Where an employee is prevented by circumstances beyond his control on time, he holidays. Where in accordance with the scheduled Christmas, Boxing Day, New Year's shutdown includes the three holidays, the employee who returns to work from leave of absence and is ready for work on time will be eligible for pay for the three holidays. Where an employee is prevented by circumstances beyond his control from returning to work on time, he shall be paid for the holidays.

At the beginning of each calendar year the dates on which these holidays will be observed shall be agreed upon with the Union. Employees who have accumulated Inaddition, one hundred and twenty (120) days seniority seniority, will be granted two one floating holidays holiday per year. If an employee has not taken his floating holiday by the end of December each year and has not signified his intention of taking it, such floating holiday will be scheduledby the Company before February of each year. Request for floaters are to be submitted in writing on forms supplied by the Company, three (3) days in advance of the floater with the exception of emergency situations. Management will respond within twenty-four (24) hours of receiving the request. An employee who by reason of layoff lay-off is prevented from taking his floating holidays holiday shall receive pay in lieu of such holidaysholiday, during the current year.
