Extra Help Service Calculation. In the event of a tie extra-help hours during continuous service will be included in the total Seniority calculation. Extra-help hours served on or after January 1, 1999, will be counted on an hour-for-hour basis with eight (8) hours as the equivalent of one (1) work day of service. Extra- help hours served prior to January 1, 1999, are not available in the existing payroll system and will be calculated at 2.86 hours a day per seven (7) calendar days of service (equivalent of 20 hours).
