Common use of Employee Leave Clause in Contracts

Employee Leave. In instances where the work of the Agency will not be handicapped by the temporary absence of an employee, the employee shall be granted a leave of absence without pay or educational leave without pay for up to one (1) year, subject to Agency approval. An employee may take up to fifteen (15) days of leave of absence without pay each calendar year, without first exhausting his or her accumulated paid leave, for professional or career development, including union functions or activities, subject to the employee providing notification of the leave to payroll no later than the 20th of the month in which the leave is to be taken and the operating requirements of the Agency.
