Common use of Election of Stewards Clause in Contracts

Election of Stewards. In order to provide an orderly and speedy procedure for the settling of grievances, the Employer acknowledges the right of the Union to appoint or elect 1 (one) xxxxxxx, whose duties shall be to assist any employee (which the xxxxxxx represents) in preparing and presenting their grievance in accordance with the grievance procedure.

Employees shall not be eligible to serve as stewards until they have completed the probationary period (four hundred and fifty (450) hours worked).

One xxxxxxx will be appointed by the Union as Chief Xxxxxxx. Stewards must have successfully completed their probationary period.
