Duration of Unpaid Disability Leaves of Absence. Unless the Superintendent and Board determine that exigent circumstances justify a longer unpaid leave of absence, the duration of unpaid leaves of absence shall not exceed the following after the exhaustion of any paid leaves which may be applicable: Year of Employment with the District Maximum Period of Unpaid Leave 1st Year 30 Consecutive Work Days 2nd through 4th year 60 Consecutive Work Days 5th through 15th year 90 Consecutive Work Days, or for 90 Non-Consecutive Work Days out of 120 Consecutive Work Days from the same illness or incapacity 16th year and after 120 Consecutive Work Days, or for 120 Non-Consecutive Work Days out of 180 Consecutive Work Days from the same illness or incapacity Nothing in this Subparagraph shall be deemed to deprive any employee of any leave provided for in the FMLA or by virtue of military service.

  • Maternity Disability Leave 14.1.13.1 This leave commences with the onset of disablement due to pregnancy. The employee may claim sick leave pay and/or extended disability pay for no more than that limited period of time when the employee’s physician certified in writing on the form provided by the District that she was actually physically disabled from performing her duties because of pregnancy, miscarriage, childbirth, or recovery there from.
