Common use of Description of Appropriate Unit Clause in Contracts

Description of Appropriate Unit. For purposes of this Agreement, the term “food service employee” shall mean all persons in the appropriate unit employed by the School District in such classifications excluding the following: confidential employees, supervisory employees, essential employees, part-time employees whose services do not exceed 14 hours per week or 35 percent of the normal work week, employees who hold positions of a temporary or seasonal character for a period not in excess of 67 working days in any calendar year, and emergency employees. The parties agree that food service employees who are scheduled to work at least 2.75 hours per day are eligible for the bargaining unit.
