Deceased Spouse Insurance Coverage. Upon the death of an employee or retiree, dependents of that employee or retiree shall have the option to enroll in the health and/or dental insurance programs in place at the time of the employee’s or retiree’s death. Participation requirements include the following: • Employee/Retiree completed 10 years of service with FCPS. • Employee/Retiree carried dependent medical/dental benefit coverage at time of death. • Surviving dependent has no access to employer-provided medical/dental insurance. • Surviving dependent is responsible for full cost of medical/dental premiums. • New dependents may not be added to the policy.
