Daily working hours and rest periods a. The employer will organise the work in such a way that the employee: • does no more than 12 hours’ work per shift, followed by an unbroken rest period of at least 11 hours, whereby the rest period may be reduced to no less than 8 hours no more than 10 times per year and 4 times per period of 4 consecutive weeks, or • with the agreement of the employee participation body, does no more than 14 hours’ work per shift, providing that this shift is followed by an unbroken rest period of at least 24 hours. This may be applied no more than 26 times per period of 52 consecutive weeks, or • with the agreement of the employee participation body, has an unbroken rest period of at least 11 hours in a period of 24 consecutive hours, whereby the rest period may be reduced to no less than 8 hours no more than 117 times per period of 52 consecutive weeks. In that case, the shift may comprise no more than 16 hours, including breaks and travelling time. If this is followed by a day or night shift of no more than 12 hours, this shift will be followed by an unbroken rest period of at least 24 hours.

  • Lunch and Rest Periods A. Each employee working more than four (4) hours per day shall be entitled to a minimum of one-half (1/2) hour duty free lunch period without pay.

  • Meal Breaks and Rest Periods 7.1 Except when required for urgent or emergency work and except as provided in 7.2 below, no employee shall be required to work for more than five hours continuously without being entitled to a meal break of not less than half an hour. There will be only one meal break of not less than half an hour during a 10 hour shift.

  • Meal Periods and Rest Periods (a) Regular hours of work shall include, as scheduled by the Employer, two (2) rest periods of fifteen (15) minutes during each shift of seven and three- quarter (7 3/4) hours and exclude an unpaid meal period of not less than thirty (30) minutes.

  • Meal and Rest Periods For assignments where the employee is unable to leave for a thirty (30) minute meal period (i.e., live-in, shift or respite) the meal period shall be paid as time worked. For assignments where the employee is able to leave for a thirty (30) minute meal period (i.e., hourly), the meal period shall be unpaid. Except for emergencies, employees will be completely relieved from duty during the unpaid meal period. Fifteen (15) minute paid rest periods will be provided approximately midway through each four (4) hour segment of each shift. Employees will not be required to work longer than three (3) hours without a rest period, except in emergencies.

  • Paid Rest Periods All Employees shall be given a paid rest period of fifteen (15) minutes in the first and second half of their daily shift in an area made available by the Employer. If mutually agreed to between the parties, the two (2) rest periods shall be combined.

  • Overtime Rest Periods If an employee is assigned one (1) or more hours of overtime work contiguous to his/her regular workshift or is called back within one (1) hour of his/her scheduled quitting time, the Agency will provide a fifteen (15) minute rest period after two (2) hours of overtime completed.

  • Consecutive Hours of Work The daily hours of work for each employee shall be consecutive.

  • Rest Periods and Meal Breaks (a) All employees shall have two (2) fifteen (15) minute rest periods in each work period in excess of six (6) hours, one (1) rest period to be granted before and one (1) after the meal period, provided the staff to child ratio can be maintained. It is understood that meal breaks and rest periods may be combined subject to operational requirements.

  • Normal Hours of Work 6.01 The normal work day is defined as the twenty-four (24) hour period beginning at 12:00 Midnight.
