Common use of Court Appearance Leave Clause in Contracts

Court Appearance Leave. Leave shall be granted for appearances before a court, legislative committee, or other judicial or quasi-judicial body as a witness in an action involving the Federal Government, the State of Minnesota, or a political subdivision thereof, in response to a subpoena or other direction of proper authority when such leave request is for job-related purposes. Leave shall also be granted for attendance in court in connection with a teacher’s official duty, which shall include any necessary travel time. However, a teacher shall not be granted leave with pay for a teacher or Association initiated lawsuit against the State.
