Common use of Court Appearance Leave Clause in Contracts

Court Appearance Leave. Leave shall be granted for appearances before a court, legislative committee, or other judicial or quasi-judicial body in response to a subpoena or other direction of proper authority for job related purposes other than those created by the supervisor or the exclusive representative. Leave shall also be granted for attendance in court in connection with a supervisor's official duty, which shall include any necessary travel time. Such supervisor shall be paid the supervisor's regular rate of pay but shall remit to his/her Appointing Authority the amount received, exclusive of expenses, for serving as a witness, as required by the court.
