School Year Sarasota Suncoast agrees that opening and closing dates of the school year and school holidays will coincide with other Sarasota County schools.
Overtime-Eligible Employees Unpaid Meal Periods The Employer and the Union agree to unpaid meal periods that vary from and supersede the unpaid meal period requirements required by WAC 000-000-000. Unpaid meal periods for employees working more than five (5) consecutive hours, if entitled, will be a minimum of thirty (30) minutes and will be scheduled as close to the middle of the work shift as possible, taking into account the Employer’s work requirements and the employee’s wishes. Employees working three (3) or more hours longer than a normal workday will be allowed an additional thirty (30) minute unpaid meal period. When an employee’s unpaid meal period is interrupted by work duties, the employee will be allowed to resume their unpaid meal period following the interruption, if possible, to complete the unpaid meal period. In the event an employee is unable to complete the unpaid meal period due to operational necessity, the employee will be entitled to compensation, which will be computed based on the actual number of minutes worked within the unpaid meal period. Meal periods may not be used for late arrival or early departure from work and meal and rest periods will not be combined.
School Year Employees All hourly employees compensated under “Hourly Schedule A” and regularly employed for the hours in that position considered full time by the Employer for the school year.
Starting Salary All bargaining-unit positions will be hired at a starting salary commensurate with their experience. It is expected that those salaries will typically be within 20% of employees within that unit at a similar rank and/or experience level. In exceptional cases, bargaining-unit positions may be hired at a salary above that range contingent on extraordinary experience and extramural funding.
TEACHER TEACHING ON CALL PAY AND BENEFITS 1. The employer will ensure compliance with vacation provisions under the Employment Standards Act in respect of the payment of vacation pay.
Compensation for Unused Sick Leave 1. Employees who enter County service after July 1, 1979, shall not be eligible for compensation for any of their unused sick leave credits.
Annual Paid Sick Leave Fifteen (15) days sick leave per year shall be earned by an employee at the rate of 1.25 days for every month that an employee is employed.
DURATION OF SCHOOL DAY AND YEAR 33C) The duration of the school day and year will be the responsibility of the Academy Trust.
Minimum Salaries 12.1 The minimum base salary for all Bargaining Unit members shall be as follows: Rank Effective 9/1/2016 Professor $77,510 Assoc. Professor $62,520 Asst. Professor $51,325 Instructor $43,835 Senior Librarian $77,510 Assoc. Sr. Librarian $66,270 Assoc. Librarian $60,730 Asst. Librarian $51,325 Beg. Librarian $43,835 Faculty Members earning a base salary below the effective minima shall move to the new minima and receive any across-the-board and compression increase under Article 10 on his or her minima. Faculty Members who will receive regional campus increases under Article 10 of this Agreement shall receive those increases before any adjustment to meet the minimum salary required by this Article.
Salary Scale The salary scale applicable to Employees shall be set out hereinafter in the Wage Schedule.
