Head Coaches Clause Samples
The "Head Coaches" clause defines the roles, responsibilities, and expectations for individuals designated as head coaches within an organization or under a contract. It typically outlines the scope of authority, reporting structure, and key duties such as team management, training oversight, and compliance with organizational policies. This clause ensures that both parties have a clear understanding of the head coach's position, helping to prevent disputes over job functions and establishing accountability for team performance.
Head Coaches. The right to establish the salaries of the Head Coaches and the salaries of High School Band Director, Chorus Director, Speech and Drama Coaches shall be held by the Board of Trustees. The salaries shall be set according to the salary schedule and any addition to that sum shall be designated as a bonus.
Head Coaches. Hourly compensation for time worked beyond contract days for district approved athletics with prior approval of the Director, Athletics. For all officially sanctioned collegiate sport teams up to a maximum of forty-eight (48) hours per sport (maximum one semester per academic year “traditional” season of sport).
Head Coaches. Head Coaching Load: During in-season, a Head Coach will receive 9 LHE for the in-season class, associated with their intercollegiate sport. In addition to the 2.7 LHE associated with each intercollegiate athletic class, a Head Coach will receive 6.30 LHE of additional reassigned time for coaching during the off-season semester. The combination of LHE associated with the intercollegiate athletic class and additional reassigned time shall not exceed a total of 9 LHE in the off-season. If a unit member is the Head Coach of more than one intercollegiate sport and those sports compete in different semesters, the Head Coach will not receive additional reassigned time and will only receive any LHE associated with an off-season intercollegiate athletic class in the off-season semester for each sport. The Head Coach of an athletic team will receive an annual head coaching stipend of $12,500 used to perform the various duties, such as recruitment, required of coaches. No Head Coach shall be awarded more than one head coaching stipend per academic year.
Head Coaches. A university may offer head coaches an initial multiyear annual appointment of not less than three and not more than ten Fiscal Years in length. Multiyear annual appointments may be renewed at the end of the stated term. A head coach being renewed for a subsequent annual appointment shall be offered a multiyear annual appointment of not less than three and not more than ten Fiscal Years in length. An option to offer a head coach a two-year annual appointment may be exercised once during a coach’s employment with a state university.
Head Coaches. Those faculty who are at least half-time and whose primary responsibilities are to oversee aspects of College-recognized athletic programs. These faculty are given annual contracts.
Head Coaches a. The Executive Board shall appoint all head coaches and fill any vacancy that may arise as recommended by the Coaches Selection Committee.
b. The head coach of each team is the liaison between the Board of Governors and his players and their parents.
Head Coaches. All head coaches will meet with:
1. The athletic director, prior to the start of the season, to review schedules, facility priorities and maintenance, to express concerns, etc.
2. The athletic director, as soon as possible after the season, to evaluate the program and to make recommendations for the following year, including scheduling, facilities, and personnel.
3. Assistant coaches and feeder program coaches, at least two (2) weeks prior to the start of the varsity season, to encourage continuity within the program, discuss skill development priorities and to improve overall communications.
4. The Administration, to provide input into the hiring of qualified and program compatible assistant coaches at all levels.
Head Coaches. The WPAF is to be submitted to the Athletic Director no later than 14 days from the conclusion of the traditional season each year. If this date falls on a weekend or holiday the deadline will be the next workday. The Head Coach is required to include the following in the WPAF:
1. Student-athlete evaluations completed at the end of the most recent traditional season.
2. Three (3) Letters of Evaluation - Coaching peer, campus, and community or alumni (minimum of 2 from peer coaches)
3. Self Evaluation form completed by coach.
4. Coaching Narrative (optional) reflecting on period of evaluation to be written by coach. At the conclusion of the WPAF review, the Athletic Director will complete the Coaching Performance Evaluation. The Athletic Director will meet with each Head Coach to review his/her Coaching Performance Evaluation; to discuss performance highlights, performance deficiencies and areas of needed improvement; and to set future goals. The Coaching Performance Evaluation will be entered into the WPAF, and a copy provided to the coach. The coach will be provided with 10 days to submit a response, after which time the complete WPAF will be forwarded to the President for review.
Head Coaches. 1. If a campus schedules a men's and women's intercollegiate athletic team in the same sport and all aspects (sanctioned season, practice periods, and competitive schedules) of the teams are the same, the campus may assign one head coach to teach and coach both teams. Such assignment shall be made only with the approval of the College President, Men's Athletic Director, Women's Athletic Director, and the coaches involved.
2. If one person is assigned as the head coach for a men's and women's team in the same sport as indicated above, an assistant coach may be assigned as per the following examples:
▇. ▇▇▇'s and women's cross-country teams that have the exact same schedule for all activities may assign one person as the head coach for both teams and another person as an assistant coach. The cross-country teams are entitled to two coaches, either two head coaches or one head coach and one assistant coach.
▇. ▇▇▇'s and women's track and field teams that have the exact same schedule for all activities may assign one person as the head coach for both teams. Each track and field team is entitled to a head coach as well as an assistant coach equaling four coaches. If one person is assigned as the head coach, the campus may assign three assistant coaches.
3. If one coach is assigned as a head coach for a men's and women's team in the same sport as indicated in F.1. above, the sport shall be counted as .5 for both the men's and women's intercollegiate athletic program. Therefore, a men's and women's team coached by one coach shall count for .5 of an athletic director position in both the men's and women's program.
Head Coaches has the option of increasing the supplement for the head coach of any High 3 School sport up to 50% above the base head coach stipend. 4 Floating Athletic Assistant up to $2,100.00 5 6 DIVIDING RESPONSIBILITIES 7 If any of the above positions cannot be filled by any one person, it may be split among different 8 people upon the approval of the principal, athletic director, or superintendent 9 Any unused coaching stipends may be used for other coaching positions, as the need arises 10 during the school year.
