Common use of Civil Duty Clause in Contracts

Civil Duty. A. An employee covered by this Agreement who is required by the department or by subpoena to appear before a court, public body, or commission or to give deposition during off-duty hours on any matter arising out of his employment shall be compensated for actual verified time spent for such appearance with a minimum of two (2) hours compensation at his/her basic rate of pay, or the overtime rate if applicable.
