BEREAVEMENT PAY AND JURY DUTY. 29.1 An employee absent from work due to the death and attendance at the funeral of a spouse, partner, child, parent, brother, sister, grandparents, or grandchild will be paid bereavement pay for time not worked up to a maximum of three (3) days but such time shall not extend beyond two (2) days following the date of the funeral or memorial service. This allowance will only be made where the circumstances require the employee’s absence from work in connection with the bereavement. An employee absent from work due to the death and attendance at the funeral of a mother-in-law, father-in-law, step father or step mother, legal guardian, sister-in-law, brother-in-law, will be paid bereavement pay for time not worked up to a maximum of two (2) days but such time shall not extend beyond one day following the date of the funeral or memorial service. This allowance will only be made where the circumstances require the employee’s absence from work in connection with the bereavement.
