Work on a Holiday definition

Work on a Holiday. An employee who is required to work on any of these eleven holidays will receive payment at the rate of time and one-half (1 in addition to his regular rate of pay. Holidays will be paid at the number of hours and rate which would have been bulletined had the day not been a holiday.

  • Employees Required to Work on a Holiday If an employee is required to work on a holiday, the employee can select another day to be taken in lieu of the holiday and that day should be taken off within thirty (30) days of the worked holiday.

  • Assigned to Work on a Holiday - A full-time FLSA non-exempt employee who is required to work on a designated holiday will receive holiday pay plus wages at one and one-half times the employee’s regular rate of pay.

  • Payment for Work on a Holiday or a Sunday: Shift workers shall be paid for all time worked on a holiday or a Sunday at the rates prescribed by clause 20, Holiday and Sunday Work.

  • Legal Holiday means a Saturday, a Sunday or a day on which banking institutions in the City of New York or at a place of payment are authorized by law, regulation or executive order to remain closed. If a payment date is a Legal Holiday at a place of payment, payment may be made at that place on the next succeeding day that is not a Legal Holiday, and no interest shall accrue on such payment for the intervening period.

  • Holiday means the twenty-four (24) hour period commencing at 0001 hours of a day designated as a paid holiday in this Agreement.

  • Working Day means any day other than a Saturday or Sunday or public holiday in England and Wales.

  • Weekday means Monday – Friday.

  • Day means calendar day.

  • Banking Day means each day (other than a Saturday or Sunday) on which the Clearing System and the Trans-European Automated Real-time Gross settlement Express Transfer-System (TARGET2) ("TARGET2") are open for business.

  • Week means seven consecutive days.
