The Growing Season. The Community Garden opens in early April 2022. Plots must be planted by and tended through the planting season to maintain a healthy and presentable raised bed. Fall clean up must be completed no later than October 15th of each year. Subscription and renewal guidelines: North Haledon renters wishing to keep their current bed, continue planting or overwintering crops must apply and pay in full for the following growing season by October 15th of the current season. A discount rate of $25 is offered to early renewals for residents (as this also simples our all-volunteer record keeping processes!) An initial fee of $50 will apply for rejoining the garden if renewals are not applied for by October 15th of the current season. Residents in Haledon and Prospect Park are eligible for a plot if by May 15th there are open beds. Residents in Haledon and Prospect Park must pay $50 for each new year’s subscription. Renewals allow members to secure their same plot. The NH Green Team garden leads will do the best they can to place subscribers in the same plot if preferred but not renewed in the same year. Gardeners will be issued plots in the order in which the registrations are received. There is only one plot allowed per household however if all plots are not sold, members in good standing may request another plot.
