piecemeal definition
piecemeal means done in stages over a period of time. In dissolution, normally it is assumed that the assets are immediately realised and liabilities paid at once. This is possible only when the buyer of assets pays in a lump sum, which may be used for final settlement.
piecemeal approach to consumer redress means that for matters not within the ambit of these redress mechanisms, notably health care, professional services and many forms of credit, consumers have to rely on litigation in the courts.
