Indian tribal government means any federally recognized governing body of an Indian or Alaska Native Tribe, band, nation, pueblo, village, or community that the Secretary of the Interior acknowledges to exist as an Indian Tribe under the Federally Rec- ognized Tribe List Act of 1994, 25 U.S.C. 479a. This does not include Alaska Na- tive corporations, the ownership of which is vested in private individuals.
