  • Building Height means the vertical distance measured in the case of flat roofs, from the average level of the center line of the adjoining street to the highest point of the building adjacent to the street; and in the case of pitched roofs, up to the point where the external surface of the outer wall intersects the finished surface of the sloping roof and in the case of gables facing the road, the midpoint between the eaves level and the ridges:

  • Ceiling means the height above the ground or water of the base of the lowest layer of cloud below 6 000 m (20 000 ft) covering more than half the sky;

  • Lowest floor means the lowest floor of the lowest enclosed area (including basement).   • Basement means any area of the building having its floor subgrade (below ground level) on all sides.

  • Rear Yard means a yard extending across the full width of a parcel measured perpendicularly from the rear wall(s) of the main building situated on the parcel to the rear property boundary of the parcel [see sketch in Schedule B];

  • Ceiling Amount has the meaning assigned to such term in Section 9.10(a).

  • Rate Center Area means the following in each applicable area:

  • Winter means a period starting on 1st October and ending on the following 30th April;
