Common use of Vacation Carryover Clause in Contracts

Vacation Carryover. (a) An employee may carry over up to five (5) days' vacation per vacation year for two (2) consecutive vacation years, to a maximum of ten (10) days which must be taken not later than the third (3rd) consecutive vacation year. Employees in their first partial year of service, who commenced prior to July 1st of that year, may carry over up to five (5) days' vacation into their first vacation year. Except as provided in Clause 17.4(a)(2), an employee shall not receive cash in lieu of vacation time except upon termination, resignation or retirement.

Vacation Carryover. (a) An employee may carry over up to five ten (510) days' vacation leave per vacation year for two except that such vacation carryover shall not exceed fifteen (2) consecutive vacation years, to a maximum of ten (1015) days which must be taken not later than the third (3rd) consecutive vacation yearat anytime. Employees in their first partial year of service, who commenced prior to July 1st 1 of that year, may carry over up to five (5) days' vacation leave into their first vacation year. Except as provided in Clause 17.4(a)(218.2(a)(2), an employee shall not receive cash in lieu of vacation time except upon termination, resignation or retirement.

Employees planning to carry over up to five (5) days' vacation into leave credits shall notify their first departmental supervisor, in writing, by March 15th of each vacation year. Except as provided in Clause 17.4(a)(2), an employee shall not receive cash in lieu of vacation time except upon termination, resignation or retirement.
