Common use of Unpaid Leave Days Clause in Contracts

Unpaid Leave Days. Except as scheduled in the school calendar or otherwise provided for above, teachers are expected not to request or take vacation days during the school year, and violations of this prohibition may result in disciplinary action. A leave request exceeding the limits of or involving activities not covered by the above Personal Leave Days may be submitted to the Superintendent or designee for a decision which will be final and not grievable. All days granted by the Superintendent or designee under provisions of this section, if any, shall be unpaid. The employee’s daily rate will be deducted from the pay period affected for each day approved. Approval for unpaid days will be made in conjunction with the employee’s supervisor and the Human Resources administrator.
