Common use of UNINTERRUPTED PATIENT CARE Clause in Contracts

UNINTERRUPTED PATIENT CARE. It is recognized that the Swedish Medical Center is engaged in a public service requiring continuous operation and it is agreed that recognition of such obligation of continuous service is imposed upon both the nurse and the Union. During the term of this Agreement, neither the Union nor its members, agents, representatives, employees, or persons acting in concert with them shall incite, encourage, or participate in any strike, sympathy strike, picketing, walkout, slowdown, or other work stoppage of any nature whatsoever. In the event of any strike, sympathy strike, picketing, walkout, slowdown or work stoppage, or a threat thereof, the Union and its officers will do everything within their power to end or avert same. Any nurse participating in any strike, sympathy strike, picketing, walkout, slowdown, or work stoppage will be subject to immediate dismissal.
