Common use of UNINTERRUPTED PATIENT CARE Clause in Contracts

UNINTERRUPTED PATIENT CARE. It is recognized that the Hospital is engaged in a public service requiring continuous operation and it is agreed that recognition of such obligation of continuous service is imposed upon both the nurse and the Union. During the term of this Agreement, neither the Union nor its members, agents, representatives, employees or persons acting in concert with them shall incite, encourage or participate in any strike, sympathy strike, picketing, walkout, slowdown or other work stoppage of any nature whatsoever. In the event of any strike, sympathy strike, picketing, walkout, slowdown or work stoppage, or a threat thereof, the Union and its officers will do everything within their power to end or avert same. Any nurse participating in any strike, sympathy strike, picketing, walkout, slowdown or work stoppage will be subject to immediate dismissal. The Employer agrees that during this same time period, there shall be no lockouts.

The Employer Hospital agrees that during this same time period, there shall be no lockouts.
