TRAINING/TRAVEL GUIDELINES (formerly XXX. 20) The Company and the Union believe in the benefits of employee training and development. The purpose of training is to provide for upgrading of an employee's knowledge, skills and abilities in order to meet the requirements of their present position, or to develop toward future career alternatives. The following provisions are intended to apply to job training courses which are directed by the Company. In situations where such training occurs away from an employee's established headquarters, and/or when the hours of training vary from an employee's normal hours of work, the employee will attend the hours of the training program, subject to the following:
