Common use of Teacher Duty Days Clause in Contracts

Teacher Duty Days. The School Board shall establish the number of school days and teacher duty days for the next school year, and the teacher shall perform services on those days as determined by the School Board, including those legal holidays on which the School Board is authorized to conduct school and, pursuant to such authority, has determined to conduct school. The school year for 2015-2016 shall consist of one hundred eighty six (186) duty days, and the 2016-2017 school year shall consist of one hundred eighty six (186) duty days. For schools following a trimester schedule, one day at the beginning of the school year and one day at the end of each trimester shall be used at the discretion of each teacher for grading and other activities related to her or his teaching assignment, including voluntary meetings with other teachers. In addition, two (2) to nine (9) days will be used for staff development. Utilization of non-student days may be subject to the Meet and Confer process.
