Sick Leave Credit Upon Retirement. A. A State member of the California Public Employees' Retirement System (CalPERS) whose effective date of retirement is within four (4) months of separation from employment with the employer which granted the sick leave credit shall be credited at his/her retirement with 0.004 year of service credit for each unused day of sick leave certified to CalPERS by the employer.

Sick Leave Credit Upon Retirement. The City has contracted with PERS to provide the Service Credit for Unused Sick Leave Option. Sworn and non-sworn PERS members, whose effective retirement date is within four months of separation from employment with the City, shall be credited upon retirement with .004 year of service credit for each unused day of sick leave (i.e., 250 days of sick leave equals one additional year of service credit). The City must report those days of unused sick leave that were accrued during the normal course of employment. Additional days of unused sick leave reported for the purpose of increasing the member’s retirement are prohibited by PERS.

  • Disability Retirement If, as a result of your incapacity due to physical or mental illness, You shall have been absent from the full-time performance of your duties with the Company for 6 consecutive months, and within 30 days after written notice of termination is given You shall not have returned to the full-time performance of your duties, your employment may be terminated for "Disability." Termination of your employment by the Company or You due to your "Retirement" shall mean termination in accordance with the Company's retirement policy, including early retirement, generally applicable to its salaried employees or in accordance with any retirement arrangement established with your consent with respect to You.

  • Vacation Pay on Retirement Termination is as follows:

  • Vacation Leave Credits ‌ Full-time and part-time employees will be credited with vacation leave accrued monthly, according to the rate schedule and vacation leave accrual below.

  • Restoration of Sick Leave Credit Employees who have been separated from state service and return to a position (except as temporary employees) within two (2) years shall have unused sick leave credits accrued during previous employment restored.

  • Expiration of Sick Leave Credits Employees who are absent due to sickness beyond their accumulated sick leave credits shall be placed on an unpaid leave of absence until they are in receipt of long-term disability benefits.   • Vacation Leave Credits for Severance Pay Where the employee requests, the Employer shall grant the employee’s unused vacation leave credits prior to termination of employment if this will enable the employee, for purposes of severance pay, to complete the first (1st) year of continuous employment in the case of lay-off.
