Common use of Short Term Sick Leave Plan Clause in Contracts

Short Term Sick Leave Plan. a) The employer agrees to contribute 100% of the cost of the Short Term Sick Leave Plan. Sick leave means the period of time an employee is absent from work by virtue of being sick or disabled, or under the examination or treatment of a physician, chiropractor or dentist, or because of an accident for which compensation is not payable under the Workplace Safety and Insurance Act. Xxxx leave entitlement for denied WSIB claims will not be paid until written confirmation is received from WSIB that the claim is denied and a medical certificate is supplied by the employee, at which time sick leave shall be paid from the first day of absence for the claim.
