Short Notice Requirements. In case of illness or other personal emergency requiring a short notice absence, the nurse is required to notify their supervisor or designee immediately, but not less than two (2) hours prior to the beginning of their shift in nursing departments (one (1) hour for non-nursing departments), or in compliance with any other facility or department-specific policy. Each department will develop a system/procedure so that the nurse will only be required to make one (1) telephone contact with the Employer notifying the Department Manager that the nurse will be absent from work due to illness or injury.
