Professional Excellence Program. The Employer shall maintain the Professional Excellence Program as described in the Professional Excellence Handbook. Nurses holding a local unit officer position, District level officer position or a State level officer position in the Washington State Nurses Association will be allowed points under the professional organization officer category while serving in the officer position.

Professional Excellence Program. The Hospital provides a Professional Excellence Program for nurses in the bargaining unit, as described in the Professional Excellence Handbook. The Hospital has discretion to determine and modify Program requirements, and/or discontinue the Professional Excellence Program. In the event the Hospital decides to discontinue the Professional Excellence Program, the Hospital will provide at least thirty (30) days written notice to the Union of its decision, and upon request, will meet with the Union to discuss its decision.
Professional Excellence Program. The Professional Excellence Program (PEP) is 32 designed as a collaborative effort between the District and OP/PT employees to 33 exemplify Tacoma School District’s strong commitment to provide quality training 34 opportunities for OP/PT staff. PEP classes make available comprehensive and diverse 35 training opportunities that are designed to build skills and knowledge, enhance work 36 performance, and provide opportunities for professional and promotional goals. 37 PEP classes are offered under a variety of training components. Components include, but 38 are not limited to topics such as: Office Skills, Communications, Human Relations, 39 Technology Applications, District Programs and Procedures, and Independent Study.
1 The OP/PT Labor Management will develop guidelines and recommend a list of course 2 offerings. A complete list of components and program guidelines will be available on the 3 professional development page of the District website. 4 Office Professionals and Professional Technical employees who have earned credits for 5 participation in the Professional Excellence Program shall receive a stipend of $400 for 6 completion of thirty (30) hours of required (if applicable) and elective course work. A 7 maximum of four (4) PEP program award stipends may be earned in one (1) year. The 8 District will allocate $4,000 which can be used for additional stipends. Those employees 9 who have earned four (4) PEP program stipends and would like to earn one (1) additional 10 stipend may submit an application to the OP/PT chapter representatives. The stipends 11 will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis from the pool. Stipends shall be paid 12 the month following certification of course completion by the Professional Development 13 Office, whenever possible.
