Seniority Rights on Return to Work. An employee who returns to work after the expiration of the maternity and/or parental leave will retain the seniority they had accrued immediately prior to commencing the leave and will be credited with seniority for the period covered by the approved leave. The employee will notify the Employer within one month prior to the expiration of the leave of their intent to return to their position unless notice is provided pursuant to Clause 12.5 (Bridging of Service) and/or Clause 21.9 (Extended Child Care Leave).

Seniority Rights on Return to Work. An employee who returns to work after the expiration of maternity or parental leave shall retain service credits and seniority rights accumulated prior to the maternity and/or or parental leave will retain the seniority they had accrued immediately prior to commencing the leave of absence, and will shall be credited with seniority for the period of time covered by the approved maternity or parental leave. The Employee shall be deemed to have resigned on the date upon which leave of absence without pay commenced if they do not return to work upon the expiry of their leave. An employee will notify shall provide the Employer within one month prior to the expiration with 28 calendar days' notice of the leave of their intent date the employee intends to return to their position unless notice is provided pursuant to Clause 12.5 (Bridging of Service) and/or Clause 21.9 (Extended Child Care Leave)work.
