Radiocommu nications infrastructures. Context The Québec Government and Ville de Montréal plan to modernize their respective radiocommunications systems. The City plans to upgrade its system in order to improve its operational communications, particularly those of the police and fire services, the Société de transport de Montréal, as well as municipal maintenance services. The Québec Government’s project is part of a broader program that includes all the government departments and bodies. It is aimed at ensuring quality global and integrated communications across the province in the event of an emergency. For both the Government and the City, these modernization plans involve state-of- the-art technologies that will require significant investments. In addition to ensuring that the radiocommunications systems of all services are able to interconnect in the event of a crisis, these technologies must also meet world standards in order to protect the sustainability of the systems and to ensure the long-term availability of the main pieces of equipment. In light of the above, the City and the Government have reached an agreement to share some of their equipment.
