Common use of Premium for Scheduled Saturday and Sunday Shift Work Clause in Contracts

Premium for Scheduled Saturday and Sunday Shift Work. When an employee’s scheduled shift does not commence and end on the same calendar day, such shift shall be deemed for Saturday and Sunday premium purposes to have been entirely worked: - On the day it commenced where half (1/2) or more of the hours worked fall on that day, or - On the day it terminates where more than half (1/2) of the hours worked fall on that day. An additional amount as specified in the current Collective Agreement shall be paid to shift employees for each scheduled hour worked (or deemed to have been worked) on Saturdays, as well as shift differential if appropriate. An additional amount as specified in the current Collective Agreement shall be paid to shift employees for each scheduled hour worked (or deemed to have been worked) on Sundays as well as shift differential if appropriate.
