Common use of Overtime Rates of Pay Clause in Contracts

Overtime Rates of Pay. For the purposes of overtime, a day shall be defined as the twenty-four (24) hour period calculated from the time the Employee commences the scheduled or assigned shift. All hours worked in excess of the standard hours of work as stated in Article 11.01 – Standard Hours of Work shall be defined as overtime and paid at the rate of one and one-half (1 ½) times the regular rate of pay for the first four (4) consecutive hours and double (2X) the regular rate of pay for hours worked in excess of four (4) consecutive hours in that day.
