  • Trainee is an individual who is a signatory to a training agreement registered with the relevant State or Territory Training Authority and is involved in paid work and structured training which may be on or off the job. Trainee does not include an individual who already has the competencies to which the traineeship is directed.

A permanent-status or limited-status classified employee who has more than fifteen (15) days of authorized military duty scheduled in one (1) Federal Training Year shall not be entitled to leave with pay for those days in excess of fifteen (15), and shall be placed in an off payroll or leave of absence status, unless he or she elects to use accumulated annual, personal leave, or compensatory time leave credits for the period of absence.
