APPRENTICES/TRAINEES. 25.1 Apprentices/Trainees shall be entitled to all of the applicable rates and conditions of employment prescribed by this Agreement.

APPRENTICES/TRAINEES. The parties recognise that the importance of the role that Apprentices/Trainees fulfil within the industry and, more importantly, a role that they will fulfil as tradespersons following the conclusion of their indentures. Apprentices are the future of our trade and the parties reaffirm their commitment to the training of apprentices. Every possible effort will be made to make full time apprenticeships available. Women and indigenous people will be encouraged to seek apprenticeships and importantly, ensure that the appropriate support is provided to enable the successful completion of the apprenticeship. All apprentices/trainees covered by this Agreement will continue to be paid for all time spent at trade school (including travel time allowance). Where the apprentice successfully completes the requirements of the trade school course, the enterprise will reimbur se to the apprentice any tuition costs of trade school. Apprentices will not be disadvantaged by any changes to any government policy on training, trainees or apprenticeships. Where it is not possible to employ a full time apprentice, apprentice/s will only be engaged on accredited training programs.
APPRENTICES/TRAINEES. Apprentices/Trainees shall be entitled to all of the applicable rates and conditions of employment prescribed by this Agreement. For clarification, in addition to the rates either in clause 46 or 58, as appropriate, Trainees are entitled to receive full Daily Travel, XXXX, BEWT, CIPQ, Superannuation and any other entitlements in accordance with this document. Such entitlements shall not be paid at rates applicable to Apprentices. Training arrangements for Apprentices/Trainees shall be as provided in the Building and Construction General On-site Award 2020. Apprentices/Trainees shall be entitled to be paid the daily fares and travel allowance whilst attending training. The Employer shall be responsible for meeting all costs associated with Apprenticeship/Traineeship training, including any student registration, tuition fee or other course costs. During the first year of an Apprenticeship, tools to the minimum retail value of $600.00 shall be supplied by the Employer within a period of three months after the expiry of the probationary period or within a period of six months from the date of commencement of the employment, whichever first occurs. During the second and subsequent years (or part of a year) of apprenticeship tools to the retail value of $600.00 shall be supplied by the Employer within a period of three months from the commencement date of each such year (or part of a year) of the indentured Apprenticeship. Where an Apprentice has entered a Competency Based Training Agreement, the provision of tools will be on the following basis:

APPRENTICES/TRAINEES. The Company is committed to nurturing trade skills in the communities in which it operates. Without prescribing any particular target or ratio, the company will seek to engage as many apprentices and trainees as it can within the scope of its business profitability, work needs, ability to provide appropriate supervision and customer requirements. Where an apprentice or trainee is employed, the Company will ensure, via an appropriate supervisor that the apprentice or trainee receives, in addition to appropriate schooling, the necessary on-the-job training and support to develop the skills and attributes required of a fully qualified competent person in the particular field. Apprentices and trainees will attend training as directed by the Company in accordance with the contract of training and training plan. Apprentices and trainees will be paid for attendance at such training. In the event of an apprentice or trainee failing any section of required training without reasonable substantive excuse, the apprentice or trainee will be required to attend additional training during his/her own time (i.e. unpaid time) and be responsible for any additional course fees. Apprentices and trainees, including new start adult apprentices, will be paid the rates in accordance with Appendix A of this Agreement. Existing Employees that commence an adult apprenticeship with the Company will be paid at the rate specified for Trade Assistant. The rates specified in Appendix A are inclusive of all allowances unless specified in this Agreement.

APPRENTICES/TRAINEES. The Company and the Union recognize the benefit of having an apprenticeship/trainee program in the Company’s operations.
APPRENTICES/TRAINEES. To ensure that apprentices receive on the job training by experienced trades people and apprentice numbers are maximised, the employer shall endeavour to maintain a ratio of at least one apprentice to four tradespeople. Where this is not achievable due to health and safety reasons or matters outside the employer’s control, the parties shall discuss the matter and try to reach a settlement. If no settlement is possible the matter may be referred by either party to the Disputes Board for determination in accordance with clause 18.2.11 of this Agreement. The parties will investigate the proposal to establish a Power Industry Apprentice Training Scheme. Apprentices and Trainees shall be required to complete the off-the-job component of their training without loss of pay and during ordinary working hours, including attendance at an RTO premises as required.
APPRENTICES/TRAINEES. The Company understands and acknowledges the potential benefits associated with the employment of apprentices/trainees. To this end, under a more stable economic environment and a secure long term workbase, we will strongly consider the employment of apprentices/trainees as an option.
