Common use of Method of Deduction Clause in Contracts

Method of Deduction. The Union shall notify the Company by letter of the method upon which the deduction of Union dues is to be calculated detailing both amounts to be included and amounts to be excluded. In addition, the Union will advise the Company by letter under what circumstances dues are payable, e.g., when the employee is receiving vacation pay, holiday pay, etc. and under what circumstances dues are not payable, e.g., when the employee is receiving Weekly Indemnity or Workplace Safety and Insurance Benefits. The foregoing shall conform to the Constitution of the National Union and the By-Laws of the Local Union.
