Medium Level. Students who are categorized as having a medium level of willingness, show the same behavior as students who have a high level of desire, only they are not that active. they also sometimes don't seem to give full attention to the teacher when the teacher gives an explanation, they sometimes chat with their pairs. when the teacher wants to give questions to some students, students who are categorized as having a medium willingness sometimes hide behind the back of a friend sitting in front of them so as not to be pointed at by the teacher to answer the question that will be given. As evidenced by the interview process, the researcher found that the student have anxiety. When they answer the teacher’s question, they could not answer correctly and had difficulty in pronouncing correct vocabulary. However, apart from that, they still show signs that they want to use English when communicating. In line with one of student interview answer with the question ―what do you feel when you communicate using english language?‖, ―sometimes i feel afraid, afraid of the wrong pronunciation, sometimes too shy, but still, i am willing to use English to communicate‖. (Student 1) Student explained that wrong pronounciation and shyness make her afraid in using English language to communicate.

Medium Level. All of the students claimed they are willing and confident enough to use English when communicating. The students seemed to be afraid of making errors in front of others. Other reasons were public embarrassment, losing face, and so forth. The students were found to be more at ease initiating communication in English under particular conditions. Anxiety, according to Xxxxxxxxxxx (1983), is a brief emotional reaction characterized by sensations of tension and apprehension, as well as autonomic nervous system activation. Anxiety varies in degree and changes over time, and everything that increases anxiety reduces self-confidence and, as a result, willingness to communicate (WTC). Many reasons can enhance anxiety, including unpleasant past experiences, intergroup hostility, heightened fear of assimilation, an increase in the number of individuals listening, and so on.
