Medically-assisted dying. In accordance with Section 50 of an Act respecting end-of-life care, an employee may refuse, for personal beliefs, to participate in the administration of medically assisted dying. However, the employee must still ensure the continuity of care given to the person, as stipulated in her code of ethics and the person’s wish. If a teacher will be providing instructional or other services to a medically fragile student, the teacher or another adult who will be present when the instruction or other services are being provided will be advised of the steps to be taken in the event an emergency arises relating to the student's medical condition.

The program allows employees to set aside up to five thousand dollars ($5,000) of annual salary (before taxes) per calendar year to pay for eligible dependent care (child and elder care) expenses. Any unused balance is forfeited and cannot be recovered by the employee.
