Common use of Mass Mailings Clause in Contracts

Mass Mailings. The Union shall have the right to communicate with employees, as defined in the MOU, through the use of the campus e-mail and regular mail distribution systems in accordance with applicable University policies and the notice requirements contained in this section. At least twenty-four (24) hours in advance of a mass mailing distribution through the means identified above; the Union shall submit a copy of the proposed communication to the Associate Director of HR or her/his designee. The proposed communication shall be signed and dated by an authorized Union official and shall not contain material which is offensive, illegal, defamatory, political, or partisan in nature or detrimental to the safety and security of the institution. The University shall retain the right to deny the Union access to the mail system for the distribution of the objectionable communication if it determines that the proposed communication does not conform to the conditions contained herein. The University agrees to not unreasonably deny the Union access to the mail system for the distribution of communication.
